Multi Speciality Hospital Ranking Methodology

The objective of this research was to compile a list of the Top Multi-Specialty Hospitals.

Research Process

The research consisted of three major modules: Desk Research, Recommendations from Medical Experts, Patient Experience, and Quality Metrics. These were followed by a scientifically developed analysis and ranking process.

MODULE 1 | DESK RESEARCH

This module involved secondary research to generate a comprehensive list of hospitals using various sources such as:

• Internet, magazines, and other publications.
• Lists of hospitals from previous surveys (based on availability).
• Discussions with specialists to refine the list by adding or removing hospitals.

Since it is not feasible to compile an exhaustive list of all hospitals, respondents had the option to mention additional hospitals during the survey. This ensured that any hospital recognized by respondents had a chance to be included in the rankings.

MODULE 2 | RECOMMENDATIONS FROM MEDICAL EXPERTS

In this module, a structured questionnaire was administered to doctors specializing in Oncology, Nephrology, Urology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Gynecology/Obstetrics, Neurology, Emergency & Trauma Care, and Gastroenterology/Hepatology. These experts evaluated hospitals based on multiple parameters, including infrastructure and quality of treatment and 1250 interviews were conducted.

MODULE 3 | PATIENT EXPERIENCE

A structured questionnaire was also administered to patients and their caregivers to assess hospitals based on their experiences. This covered parameters such as hospital infrastructure and quality of treatment and 3300 interviews were conducted.

Key Evaluation Areas:

• General satisfaction with the hospital
• Recommendation of the hospital
• Satisfaction with medical care
• Satisfaction with service and organization

A rigorous statistical analysis was conducted to determine the final rankings using Perceptual data:

1. Perceptual Score

• Ratings were assigned based on expert and patient feedback.
• A regression model was used to determine the importance of various parameters.
• Raw scores and weighted scores were calculated for each parameter.
• An overall score was assigned to each hospital.

Final Score Calculation

• The final score for each hospital was a weighted average of its Perception Score.
• Scores were normalized, and rankings were determined accordingly.
